Contact Lens Exams

Dr. Sonneberg specializes in and has extensive experience with fitting contact lenses. She routinely fits hard-to-fit lenses such as bifocal contacts, contacts that correct for astigmatism (also known as toric contact lenses) and monovision lenses. Dr. Sonneberg also fits RGP lenses or rigid gas permeable contacts as well cosmetic lenses such as colored contact lenses.

Contact Lenses

An eye examination for contact lenses include special testing that is typically not performed during a routine eye exam for eyeglasses. During a contact lens exam the doctor measures the front surface of your eye, known as the cornea and also assesses your tear film. This will allow Dr. Sonneberg to find the best contact lens for you that will optimize your vision and comfort.

If you are interested in contact lenses — or you already wear them and want to have your contact lens prescription updated — please be sure to let our staff know when you schedule your appointment for an eye exam. This will ensure your exam includes extra time for Dr. Sonneberg to perform the additional tests needed for a proper contact lens fitting or prescription update.
